Your Questions, Answered
-
A trained support professional who provides physical comfort, emotional reassurance, evidence-based education, and steady guidance throughout pregnancy, labor, and early postpartum.
-
What happens in prenatal visits? Prenatal visits are personalized sessions designed to help you feel informed, prepared, and supported before birth. We may discuss preferences, stages of labor, comfort measures, partner support, postpartum planning, and any questions that arise.
When should I hire a Doula? The earlier, the better- this allows more time for preparation and support during pregnancy. However, many families book later and still benefit greatly from doula care.
Can my partner still be involved? Absolutely. My role is not to replace your partner, but to support both of you so they feel confident, included, and equipped during labor.
Doula services do NOT constitute or substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
-

What is a Doula?
A reassuring presence from a professional who has been trained in childbirth to offer physical comfort, advocacy, emotional support, educational guidance, and nonclinical advice to expectant parents and those who have recently given birth. The goal is to help you feel informed, supported, confident, and heard throughout your birth experience.
PARTNER SUPPORT
Doulas offer valuable guidance, education, and support to birthing partners, allowing them to better assist expectant mothers during labor. Doulas do not replace the birthing partner; rather, they demonstrate useful tools and techniques to aid mothers during birth, and can step in when partner needs to rest, eat, or take a break.
Benefits
Comfort Measure Options
From labor positions to acupressure, a Doula is trained in various coping methods for pain management in labor, and can suggest a variety of options to help make it a positive experience.
Empowered Communication
A doula empowers you to know and communicate your own needs regarding your desired birth and supports you with resources and information to make informed decisions.
Ongoing Labor Support
Doulas provide the extra attention needed with round-the-clock support once expectant mothers enter labor.
Postpartum Support
A doula assists in establishing breastfeeding, newborn care, and supports moms in postpartum planning and care beyond birth.
